Mr. David Sprowl

Greenwood, SC:  Mr. David Sprowl, 71, of 110 South Ames Street, the widower of Luetricia Freeman Sprowl, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at his home.

He was born in Greenwood, South Carolina, October 4, 1946, son of the late Frank Sprowl, Jr. and the late Mary Jane Clark Sprowl. He was a member of the Old Field Bethel AME Church and a 1965 graduate of Brewer High School. David served his country in the US Army.  He  was a longtime and faithful employee of Greenwood Mills No. 5 and later as a Security Guard at Self Regional Hospital. He was a member of American Legion Post #224, Sons of Aide and Mine Creek Burial Society.

He was married to Luetricia Freeman Sprowl who preceded him in death on November 26, 2016. This union was blessed with two daughters.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Sherman Sprowl.

Leaving the cherish and honor his memory; two daughters, Stacie and husband, Rodney Harrison and Sherri and husband, Ronald Stevenson and granddaughters, Laila Stevenson and Rachel Sanders (Chole) all of Rock Hill, SC; Siblings, Janie R. Lyons, Hyattsville, MD, Frances Baylor (Earl), Hodges, SC, Johnie F. Sprowl Bernice), Hodges, SC, James R. Sprowl, Silver Spring, MD, Bettye J. Sprowl Boyd, Upper Marlboro, MD, Earlene Sprowl Bussey, Greenwood, SC, Bernard Sprowl (Cindy), Washington, DC and Stanley Sprowl of California; brother-in-law, Ulysses Freeman (Alberta), Greenwood, SC; sister-in-law Brenda Freeman Behlin (Charles), Aiken, SC; four aunts, Julia Turner (Sammie), Margaret Bates, Mary E. Ellerbe and Alice Burton; one uncle, James Sprowl; and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and sorrowing friends;

A Celebration of his life will be 12 Noon, Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Liberty Spring Baptist Church with Reverend Henry R. Merriweather, presiding, Reverend Arthur Kemp, Eulogist, Bishop Emanuel Spearman and Reverend Otis Cunningham will be assisting. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, 10/25/17 at the funeral home 1-8 p.m.
