Ms. Lucille Maynard transitioned on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Brinton Wood Rehabilitation Center in Washington DC after a prolong illness. 

Lucille was born September 12, 1921; daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Washington Maynard of South Carolina.  She was a long-time member of Mount Enon Baptist Church before migrating from South Carolina to Washington DC.  After arriving in Washington DC in the early 1970’s she attended and became a member of the Mount Joy Baptist Church family.

It was her final request to be laid to her final rest at home in Saluda, South Carolina near her father and mother and other members of the Maynard family.

Lucille is survived by 2 sisters Gwen P. Ladell of Jacksonville, FL and Katie Lake of Norristown, PA and numerous nieces and nephews in both Jacksonville, FL Philadelphia, PA and Washington, DC.

Celebration of her Life will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2017 at Mt. Enon Baptist Church with Reverend Donnie Byrd officiating. burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Butler and Sons Funeral is assisting the Maynard Family.
