Mrs. Addie Louise Gray White
Johnston, SC; Mrs. Addie Louise Gray White, 88, of 492 J. Paul Road, passed away on Wednesday evening, March 28, 2018, in PruittHealth of North Augusta, SC.
She was born in Saluda County, SC, daughter of the l ate Willie and Bennie Lee Andrews Gray. At an early age, she joined the Mine Creek Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. She was also a member of the Mine Creek Burial Aide Society and the Woman's Home Aide Society #20. She was a high school graduate and graduated from Bettis Academy as a teacher and taught school at Eulalia Rural School in the upper part of Saluda County. Louise as she was called by family and friends lived in for many years in the Washington DC area, moving back to Saluda County in 1996.
She is survived by: daughter, Cheryl L. Blyther (Steven) of Suitland, MD; son, Warren Thomas (Nicole) White, District Heights, MD; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters,Nellie Smith, Columbus, GA, Betty Miles, Washington, DC, Mildred Gray, Johnston, SC and Sarah G. Richardson, Saluda, SC; brother. James (Gail) Gray, Seat Pleasant, MD; a faithful niece, Vivian Price, Johnston, SC; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Gray and Gracie Gray both of New Jersey and Margaret Gray of Nephzibah, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy White, son, Phillip White; siblings, Willie Gray, Jr., Thomas M. Gray, John E. Gray, Willette Gray, Eunice Price and Eva Stevens.
Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, 4/3/18 at Mine Creek Baptist Church conducted by the pastor, Reverend Johnny Peterson with other assisting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at Noon.
Viewing will be Monday at the funeral home 1-7 p.m.
The family is at the home of Mildred Gray 492 J Paul Road, Johnston, SC.
