Mrs. Albertha Weaver

Saluda, SC: Mrs. Albertha Weaver. of 1050 Newberry Highway, the wife of Antley (Tammy) Weaver passed away on Tuesday morning, January 2, 2018, at the home.

She was born in Saluda County, SC, daughter of the late Charlie and Carrie Lee Miles Abney and the late Reuben Simmons.

She received her education in the public schools of Saluda County where she graduated from Riverside High School in 1965. Albertha retired  from Knight's Industries as a machine operator.  Later she became a-in-home-Day-Care provider for children in the county.

She was a member of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where during good health she served as Deaconess, member of the Gospel Choir, Missionary and Kitchen Ministry. She was also a member of Woman's Home Aide Society. She was once a member of the United Mass Choir of Saluda and Edgefield.

Bert as she was affectionately called was married to Mr. Antley (Tammy) Weaver and this union was blessed with two daughters.

In Addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, David Miles and Leon Simmons.

She leaves to mourn and honor her memory; her devoted husband, Antley Weaver of the home; daughters, Florence Weaver  of the home, and Delfuni (Aaron) Glover of Saluda, SC; grandchildren, Tycee and Malike (reared in the home), Shakeyla and Tornelius; great grands, Omari (reared in the home), Tor'Shanna and Ja'Liyah; step-mother, Lola Simmons of Saluda; brothers, Ira Abney of Columbia, SC and Terry Simmons of Saluda, SC; sisters, Valeria Jones of Saluda, SC, Darline (Heyward) Williams of Aiken, SC, Frankie (Arthur) Williams of Batesburg, SC, LaShawn (Dexter) Tucker of Charlotte, NC, Treniece (Ansel) Scurry, Greenwood, SC, Regina Simmons, Greenville, SC, Connie Crawford, Raleigh, NC, Rudell Burch, Charleston, SC; sisters-in-law, Betty Miles, Terrisa Simmons and Pyllis Mangaum;  a dear friend and caregiver, Betty A. Wilson, Saluda, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.  A special "Thank You" to Hospice Care of Piedmont, DCI of Saluda, Lockhart Baptist Church Food Ministry, and AllCaregivers for their services and care provided of our loved one.

A Celebration of Her Life will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mt. Enon Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Johnny Gibbs- Officiating, Reverend Vanessa Ouzts - Presiding, assisting will be Reverend Everette Hall, Reverend Aaron Walker, Reverend Jerry Simmons, and Minister Inger Martin, Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

Viewing will be Friday 1:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
