Claymont, DE: Mr. Bennie Lee (Ben) Kelly was born in Saluda, County, SC, June 22, 1938, son of the late Albert Witt and the late Ida Bell Bletcher Kelly Abney. He departed this life, Monday, March 4, 2019 in VNA Hospice, Philadelphia, PA.

He received his education in the public schools of Saluda County, South Carolina. 

At an early age, he joined the Mine Creek Baptist Church. Moving up north at an early age, he worked in Construction until his retirement.  

Ben as he  was affectionately call will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.  His memories will be kept close to our hearts. He loved fishing and building and he also loved Gospel Music.

He leaves to honor and cherish his memory; son, Tracey (Marisol) Floyd of Claymont, Delaware; daughter, Jamila of Philadelphia, PA; stepdaughters, Eula Cooper and Elizabeth (Thomas) Johnson both of Philadelphia, PA; fourteen grandchildren; two brothers, Horace Kelly of Saluda, SC and Odell Witt of Monetta, SC; two sisters, Rose Mae Jones of Saluda, SC and Viola Jeffery of Monetta, SC; one aunt, Elester Bletcher of Johnston, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.

Homegoing Service  will be 2 pm Saturday 3/9/2019 at Mine Creek Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Johnny Peterson, Presiding and Reverend Annette Mathis - Eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

Viewing will be 1-7 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019 at the funeral home.
