Elijah (Butch) Thomas
Saluda, SC: Elijah (Butch) Thomas, 68, of 134 Big Creek Road, passed on Monday, December 24, 2018, at his home.
He was born in Saluda County, SC, November 3, 1950, son of the late Pauline Robinson and the late Ulysses Thomas. He was a member of the Mt. Moses CME Church where served as a Steward and Sunday School Teacher. He was a 1971 High School graduate.
He is survived by; brother, Pierce (Calvin) Thomas of Saluda, SC: four sisters, Patsy (William) Merriweather, Barbara A. Thomas, Mary E Thomas and Betty A. Thomas all of Saluda, SC; uncles, Sam Robinson, Lonnie (Julia) Ouzts both of Saluda, SC, Albert (Gloria) Robinson of Batesburg, SC and Curley (Doris) Brown, Irmo, SC; four aunts, Pearline Brooks, Annie Watson, Margaret Young, and Nona (Thomas) Griffin all of Saluda, SC, Patsy Kay of White Plains, NY, Georgia Williams and Trannie Washington, Bronx, NY and Geneva Gaskins, Mt. Lake Terrance, WA; one great aunt, Tennie R. Lott of Saluda, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be 1 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Mt. Moses CME Church conducted by the pastor, Reverend Ida M. Shipman and others. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 12 Noon.
Viewing will be 1-7 pm at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of his sister, Betty Thomas 417 N. Bouknight Ferry Road, Saluda, SC.
