East Orange, NJ:  Ernest Eugene (Gene) Robinson, 60, departed this life on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at his home.

He was born in Saluda, SC, February 28, 1959, son of the late James and Martha Jean Brown Robinson.

At an early age, he joined the Lockhart Baptist  Church. He graduated from Saluda High in 1977. After graduation he joined the Marines. He has lived in New Jersey for a number of years. He was married to Lanita Miller Robinson who preceded him in death.

He is survived by; Children, Seneca Myers, Tynikia Dozier, Alicia Dozier and Alonda Robinson; two grandchildren; brothers, James Jackie (Frances) Robinson and Robert (Joyce) Robinson both of Saluda, SC and Arthur (Yvuonne) Robinson of Norristown, PA; sisters, Rev. Vanessa (Joe) Ouzts and Gloria Farrington both of Saluda, SC and Rose Nicholson of Norristown, PA;  three aunts, Betty Williams of Johnston, SC, Gladys Hill of North Augusta, SC and Elizabeth W. Robinson of Saluda, SC;one uncle, Bobby Brown of Ward, SC; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Butler and Sons Funeral Home.
