Mr. James Kinard, Sr.
Saluda, SC: Mr. James (JB) Kinard, Sr., 72, of 162 May Branch Road, the husband of Carrie Davis Kinard, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at hs home.
He was born in Saluda, SC, July 24, 1947, son of the late Eddie and Hattie Bush Kinard. At an early age, he joined the Lockhart Baptist Church. He was a 1965 graduate of Ben Franklin High School in Philadelphia, PA. During his working life he worked as a machine operator at Greenwood Mills - Sloan Plant for many years. He loved fishing and sports, his favorite NFL team was the Philadelphia Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie Davis Kinard of the home; sons, James (Ashley) Kinard, Jr. of Ninety Six, SC, Timothy Kinard of Abbeville, SC and Reginald Tyrone Davis (Daphne) of Saluda, SC; daughter, Teresa LaShawn (Mickel) Etheredge of Saluda, SC; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; sister, Betty (Edward) Wimbley of Camden, NJ; God-sons, Kamari Gran, and Raquon Hartley; God-daughters, Dorsel (David) Smith and Darlene (Eddie) Tyler; sisters-in-law, Georgia Carroll, Mary E. Gilliam (Fred), Ella Theodore) Erving, Shirley (Andrew) Brown, Arlene Davis and Rosetta Williams; brother-in-law- Nathaniel Holmes; and a host of of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and sorrowing friends who will miss him dearly.
JB was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Eddie Kinard, sister - Dorothy Holmes, and brother-in-law, Howard Carroll.
A Celebration of his life will be 12 Noon Saturday, 11/16/19 at the Antioch Baptist Church with Reverend Ronnie Parkman officiating. . Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The remains will be placed in the church at 11 a.m.
Public viewing will be 1-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
