Mary Alice Padgett

Edgefield, SC: Mary Alice Daniels Padgett, 67, the wife of Ulysses Padgett, passed away on May 17, 2018 at the Saluda Nursing Home.

She was born in Saluda, SC, February 10, 1951, daughter of Annie Bell Daniel and the late James Arthur Daniel. She was a member of the Penn Creek Baptist Church and attended Willow Spring Baptist Church with her family.  She was a 1969 graduate of Saluda High School and a graduate of Piedmont Technical College in Secretarial Science.  She worked for Saluda School District One until she retired.

In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by sister, Elnora Daniel Adams.

She is survived; her mother, Annie Bell Daniel of Orangeburg, SC; husband, Ulysses Padgett of the home; daughter, Alicia Shontell (Mark) Byrd of Fountain Inn, SC; two grandsons, Brandon and Jayden Byrd of Fountain Inn, SC; brother, Harvey Daniel of Columbia, SC; sisters, Linda Eaddy of Orangeburg, SC and Sandra (William) Watson of Greenwood, SC; brother-in-law, Alvin Padgett, Jr.; aunt, Clara (Vannie) Williams; uncles, Charlie S. Daniel and Ernest Mason; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.

Celebration of her Life will be Friday, 5/25/18 @ 1:30 p.m. at Willow Spring Baptist Church conducted by the pastor, Reverend Anthony Gordon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m.

Viewing will be Thursday 1-8 pm at the funeral home.
