Mrs. Nancy Pixley Williams
Johnston, SC: Mrs. Nancy Pixley Williams, 67, of Clayhopper Drive, the wife of Joseph C. Williams, Sr. died on Tuesday, 9/11/18 at Self Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Edgefield County, SC, September 6, 1951, daughter of the late Frank Burt and Clevie May Pixley.
She received her primary education in the public schools of Edgefield County, South Carolina and her high school diploma from Saluda High School.
At an early age, she joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. She once served as secretary and Youth Advisor for Simmon Ridge Association, Mt. Calvary Church Clerk for 30 years; Director of E. Simmon Choir for many years; former owner of J and N Printing; former Girl Scout Leader for Edgefield and a member of the Usher Board (active). She was also a former employee of Knight's Industry.
Nancy was married to Joseph C. Williams, Sr. and this union was blessed with two children.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Louis Kearse, Marvin Kearse, Frankie Mae Pixley and Beatrice Johnson.
Leaving to cherish and honor her memory; her husband, Joseph C. Williams, Sr. of the home; son and wife, Joseph C. (Adrienne) Williams, Jr. of Augusta, GA; daughter and husband, Trinette Elberta (Terry) Harley of Batesburg, SC, and another daughter, Carolyn Stevens of New York; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Cheryl Buckman of Johnston, SC, Jeannette Logan of Brooklyn, NY and Barbara (Michael) Little, Las Vegas, NV; nine-sisters-in-law, six brothers-in-law; two aunt, Elizabeth Lee of Johnston, SC, and Nellie M. Pixley of Edgefield, SC; one uncle, Johnny L. Pixley of Edgefield, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.
Celebration of Life will be 3 p.m. Saturday 9/15/18 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church conducted by the pastor Reverend Lewis Burt presiding and Reverend Sammie Williams - Eulogist and others assisting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.
Public Viewing will be 1-8 p.m Friday at the funeral home.
