Mr. Alvin Lindsay
East Point, GA: Mr. Alvin Lindsay, 68, 856 Brookdale Drive, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018, at his home.
Born in Saluda, SC, August 4, 1949, son of the late Robert and Naomi Culbreath Lindsay. He was a member of Branch Hill UM Church. He was a 1967 graduate of Greenwood High School and he received his B.S. Degree in Political Science from Lehman College (CUNY) and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Antioch School of Law in Washington, D.C.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Ralph Lindsay, Robert L. Lindsay, Rhunett Lindsay and JoNell Lindsay.
He survived by; his wife, Margarita Cruz of the home; son, Nathaniel Lindsay of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Charles Lindsay of Philadelphia, PA, Douglas Lindsay and Richard Lindsay both Greenwood, SC; two sisters, Beulah Lindsay of College Park, GA and Naomi Jackson of Manhattan, NY; two sister-in-law, Lannie M. Lindsay and Lillian Regan; brother-in-law, Felix Cruz; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Viewing will be Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Butler and Sons Funeral Home 12 Noon to 7:00 p.m and graveside services will be 12 Noon Friday at Branch Hill UM Church Cemetery, Branch Hill Road, Chappells, SC 29037.
The family is at the home of his brother, Mr. Douglas Lindsay, 203 N. Bethune Street, Greenwood, SC.
