Alvin (Red) Parks
McCormick, SC: Alvin (Red) Parks, 69, of 372 W 378, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 in McCormick Rehab Healthcare after declining health.
He was born in Edgefield, SC, son Elease Kimble Parks and the late Hollie Felton Parks, Sr, was born on August 26, 1950.
He received his education in the public schools of Edgefield County, South Carolina.
At an early age, he joined the Liberty Spring Baptist Church and later study with Jehovah Witnesses. He worked many years at Greenwood Mills and later worked in the Farming Industry. He was a former volunteer at Northside Fire Department.
He was married to Ernestine Peterson Parks and to this union three children were born.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by brother, Hollie Felton Parks, Jr.
He leaves to mourn his passing; his mother, Elease K. Parks of McCormick, SC; two sons, Lamont Parks of McCormick, SC and Pervis Parks of Greenwood, SC; daughter, Earcelia Parks of Edgefield, SC; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren; three brothers, Elder David (Deloris) Parks, Gus Parks and Dennis M. Parks all of Greenwood, SC two sisters, Wanda (John) Baylor of Greenwood, SC and Veronica Parks of McCormick, SC; mother-in-law, Mary B. Peterson of Saluda, SC; a number of brothers and sisters-in-law; four aunts, three uncles; a number of nieces, nephews, other relative and sorrowing friends.
Graveside Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Overbrooks Cemetery, McCormick, SC, conducted by Reverend Johnny Peterson.
Viewing will be 1-7 Tuesday 8/18/20 at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of his daughters, Earcelia Parks of 1307 Hill Crest Street, Edgefield, SC.
