Edgefield, SC:  Arthur Picken (AP) Gordon, 78, departed this life, Thursday, January 1, 2026, in Self Regional HealthCare.

He was born in Edgefield, SC, April 14, 1948, son of the late Robert Milton Gordon, Sr. and the late Omelia Covington Gordon. He joined Pleasant Lane Baptist Church where he maintained his membership until his demise.  He was educated in the public schools of Edgefield County, South Carolina. Arthur (AP) working life began in the Logging Industry and later he began working a the Durst Plant - Greenwood Mills and he was employed at Milliken's Saluda/Johnston until he became disable.  He was married to Viola Swearinger Gordon and the father of five children.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Carl D. Gordon and Diane Gordon

He leaves to cherish his memory and legacy; his wife, Viola S. Gordon of Hephzibah, GA; sons, Arthur Picken Gordon, Jr. of Greenwood, SC and Keyvunta Montrez Williams of North Augusta, SC; daughters, Annette Gordon Stewart (Aaron) of Hephzibah, GA, LaKendra L. Gordon of Greenwood, SC and Latonya M. Williams of North Augusta, SC;  grandchildren, Tanayja Williamsm, Brittany walker, Ariel Williams, Quentin Gordon, Shemicka Gordon blacks; great grandchildren, Jarryd Coleman, Jr., Jayceon Rollinson, Antonio Larell, Zane Wadlington, Lyric  Wadlington, Kamauri Cromer and Amaya Gordon; bonus children, Walter Cannon, Jr. and Tyrone Cannon of Saluda, SC; bonus grandchildren, Quanisha Cannon, Walter Cannon, Waltavius Cannon and Tymar Cannon; brothers, Minister Robert M. Gordon, Jr., Edgefield, SC, Donald (Ann) Gordon, Kentucky and Reverend Terry (Sherese) Gordon, Capitol Heights, MD; sisters, Alma G. Griffin Bibbs, North Augusta, SC, Eddie Ruth Hooper, Graniteville, SC, Minister Frankie Freeman, Johnston, SC, Apostle Gloria Thomas, Silver Hill, MD, Evangelist  Vickie Gordon (Gary) Lewis, Capital Heights, MD and Minister Mary Gordon Bean, Aiken, SC; aunt, Ophelia C. Moore. Edgefield, SC; close friend, Julian Hodges Harrison of Johnston, SC; three brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relative and sorrowing who will miss him dearly.

The family is receiving friends at the home of his daughter Annette (Aaron) Stewart, 3058 Grey Fox, Drive, Hephzibah, GA 30815 and the local address 332 Highway 378 East, Edgefield, SC.
