Artrina Dozier Obituary

Artrina Dozier

Artrina (Tina) Dozier, 67, of Saluda, South Carolina was called home on September 12, 2022 after a short battle with bladder cancer, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born in Washington , D.C., daughter of the late Otis (Artis) and Lizzie Mae Dozier on July 28, 1955.

Growing up, Tina was an avid tennis player. She found so much joy picking up a racket. She gave birth to her only son in 1991 and moved to Saluda, South Carolina, in 2002. Tina was a housekeeper at GW Hospital in Washington, D.C.  for many years, followed by working for Tire & Oil in Saluda. She also spent much of her time caring for her parents in their later years.

Tina was a devout Christian. Tina absolutely loved her church and glorifying the Lord. She was a wonderful singer, the voice of an angel. She was a part of the church choir and the Saluda Mass Choir. She enjoyed traveling to various churches in the area singing her heart out for the Lord. People loved to hear her sing. She also enjoyed painting and spent many days painting beautiful pieces. Tina was an absolute joy, always with a warm smile, and spreading love to those around her. Tina gave the greatest hugs. There was nothing like a Tina hug.

Her son was the light of her life. They spent every evening on the phone talking about the day, reminiscing, and laughing. Tina always wanted a daughter, and found her in her daughter-in-law, Crystal. Crystal and Tina were two peas in a pod, spending time making each other laugh, and just being together. She was incredibly close to her nieces and nephews, seeing each one of them as her own child and guiding them along the way.

She is survived by her only son, Craig (Crystal) Dozier, of Gainesville, FL, two sisters, Lorraine Dozier and Joyce Dozier, both of Washington, DC., her brother, Artis Dozier, Jr., Saluda, SC., honorary sister Gail Mosley, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will continue to honor her legacy.

She is preceded in death by her father, Otis (Artis) Dozier, mother Lizzie Mae Dozier, and many aunts and uncles.
