Saluda, SC: Mrs. Betty Lou Cheatham Williams, 76, of 340 Old Gassaway Road, the widow of Johnny James Williams, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at her home.
She was born in Edgefield County, SC, daughter of the late John Henry Cheatham, Sr. and the late Emmaline Jackson Cheatham. She was educated in the public schools of Saluda County, SC and received her GED from Adult Ed and received a certificate in Nursing Assistant from Piedmont Technical College.
She was a faithful member of Lockhart Baptist Church and a member of the Woman's Home Aide Society.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded by daughter, Emma Jean, sons, Michael and Terrence and siblings, John Henry Cheatham, Jr., Mary Frances Minick and Willie (Bill) Cheatham.
Those who will miss her the most; sons, Jerome (Mona) Wilson of Warner Robin, GA and Jeffrey Williams of Saluda, SC; daughters, Patricia Ann Edwards of Clinton, SC and Minister Tonya C. Jones of Piedmont, SC; 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kathy W. Williams of Simpsonville, SC; step daughter, Kathy Williams; brother, Tommie (Barbara) Cheatham of Saluda, SC; sisters, Janie (Maple) Phillips and Annie Louise Key both of Edgefield, SC and Jeannette C. Shealy of Saluda, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, 2/7/20 at Lockhart Baptist Church conducted by the pastor, Reverend Herman Jenkins. Eulogist, and Reverend Irene Abney, presiding and others are assisting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.
Viewing will be 1-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
