Saluda, SC: Brenda Lee Clarke Abney, 64, 1056 Carver St, transitioned from this life into eternal rest, Wednesday night, July 31, 2024 at the home of her daughter.
She was born July 1, 1960 in Saluda, SC, daughter of the Johnny Lee Clarke and the late Georgia Bell Graham Clarke Mobley. She was a 1978 graduated of Saluda High School. Early in life she joined Lockhart Baptist Church and presently she was a member of Walk of Faith - Johnston, SC. She worked many years at Milliken Saluda and her last employment was with Aiken County Detention Center where she retired in 2023.
She is survived by; devoted daughter, Natasha A. Burton and granddaughter, Kennedi Burton of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Reverend Irene (Willie) Abney and Carolyn Clarke-Peterson both of Saluda, SC; brother, Johnny (Susan) Mathis of Saluda, SC; bonus sister, Joyce Jones of Saluda, SC; God-daughter, Tanik Jones of Saluda, SC; ;aunts and uncles; nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
A Celebration of life will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2024 at Walk of Faith, Johnston, SC. Burial will follow in Lockhart Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 11:00 a.m.
Family viewing will be 3-4 p.m. Sunday, 8/4/24 at the funeral home and public viewing will be 4-6 p.m.
The family will be receiving friends at the home of her sister, Reverend Irene and Willie Abney home, 303 W. Eutaw St,, Saluda, SC Each day 2-7 p.m.
