Brenda Diane Smith
Saluda, SC: Brenda Diane Smith, 64, of 109 Fox Drive, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Self Regional Health Care.
She was born in Saluda, SC, July 22, 1957, the daughter of Ina Glover Smith and Marvin Richardson, Sr. She joined Lockhart Baptist Church. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Ina Glover Smith and Marvin Richardson, Sr., siblings, Lannie Jackson, Catherine Sandlin, Edna Smith, Joe Smith, Willie Smith, Johnny Smith, Henry Bell Gray, Marvin Richardson, Jr. and Mary Wallace.
She received her education in the public schools of Saluda, South Carolina where she was a 1976 graduate of Saluda High School.
Diane as she was affectionately called, was a good loving person. She had a big heart and she loved everybody. She didn't meet a stranger. Diane would always say that she was kin to tat person or that's my family. She was a caregiver to her brother, she was a babysitter, home-sitter, housekeeper to all in the community. Diane was someone who would help everyone. She was a giving person and she would give you her last. She loved and helped all of her family. Diane loved being outside working in the yard and planting and taking care of her flowers which she loved.
Those who are left to honor and cherish her memory; sisters, Mamie Lott and Carol Smith both of Saluda, SC, Hattie Mae Hill, Washington, DC and Mamie Mason, Delaware; brothers, Walter Smith, Jr. and Sammy Smith both of Saluda, SC; she help to raise her nephew, Robert Miles (as a son of her own); sisters-in-law, Regina Smith, Carrie Richardson and Ella R. Gray; and a host of nieces and nephews (whom she loved all), other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Lockhart Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Raymond Adams with others assisting. The body will be placed in the church at 12 Noon.
Viewing will be 1-6 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2022 at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.
