Calvin Jobius James, 32, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 in Prisma Health Richland Hospital.

He was born in Greenwood, SC, June 17, 1989, son of Karen Abney and Calvin Lee James. He received his education in the public schools of Saluda, SC and Augusta, GA. He was a member of Lockhart Baptist Church. He was once employed at Palmetto Company. He loved sport his favorite football quarterback was Tom Brady and basketball player was LeBron James.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Bennie Ruth Johnson Abney.

He leaves to honor and cherish his memory; His father and stepmother, Calvin and Debra James of Aiken, SC; his mother, Karen Abney (Jeffrey) of Saluda, SC; special friend, Brendetta Oakman and his unborn daughter, Bre'Asia LoRyus James of Ward, SC; brothers, Eric James (Shakea) of Columbia, SC, Mason James, Curtis James and Michael Allen all of Aiken, SC; sisters Whitney Scurry of Augusta, GA, Deidra James, Daijah James, Denequa Townes all of Aiken, SC; paternal grandmother, Theresa Robinson of Saluda, SC; paternal grandfather, Willie Edwards of Johnston, SC; maternal grandfather, William (Rev. Irene) Abney of Saluda, SC; two nieces, two nephews; aunts and uncles; and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.

A Celebration of his Life will be 2 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Lockhart Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Viewing will be Thursday, 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
