Saluda, SC: Mrs. Carrie Lee Means Tucker was born on May 27, 1933 in Union, SC, daugther of the Jack Means and Jessie Lee Smith Means. She was the widow of the late Robert Tucker. As she slept quietly, God sent an Angel to bring her home on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the home of her son, Dexter & Shawn Tucker, Charlotte, NC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters, and two children.
At an early age, she joined the Bethel Baptist Church , Jonesville, SC. Later in life after moving to Saluda, SC, She united with the Bethlehem Baptist Baptist Church. She was a member of Woman's Home Aide Society #126 and a retired textile worker.
She leaves precious memories; two daughters, Annie (Henry) Lindsay of Pacolet, SC and Freddie (Ulysses) Smith of Gaffney, SC; sevens sons, Charles (Joann) Jeter, of Union, SC John (Lucy) Jeter, of Gaffney, SC, Michael (Jenean) Jeter and Neal Jeter of Saluda, SC, Lamont (Sonya) Tucker of Newberry, SC, Larry (Carolyn) Tucker all of Saluda, SC, and Dexter (LaShawn) Tucker of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Alice Stringfellow of Decatur, GA and Pearline Rodgers of Jonesville, SC; three brother, Alonzo Jethro Bronner of Jonesville, SC, John Benny Woodson of Union, SC and Rosco Means of Brooklyn; one aunt, Georgia Smith of Gastonia, NC; one son-in-law, James Sarter of Spartanburg, SC; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Means of Union, SC; 33 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Reverend Calvin Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Angel's Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
Viewing will be Wednesday 1-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
