Charles Werts
Saluda, SC: Charles Werts, 70, departed this life peacefully Tuesday morning, April 5, 2022 in Saluda Nursing Center.
He was born in Saluda, SC, December 1, 1951, son of Mrs. Eliza Mae Hill Werts and the late Mr. Henry Werts.
He received his education in the public schools of Saluda County, South Carolina. At an early age, he joined Mt. Enon Baptist Church. During his working life he worked in the Textile Industry until his health failed.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Werts and Henry B. Werts.
He leaves to cherish and honor his memory; his devoted mother, Eliza Mae Hill Werts of Saluda, SC; two daughters, Barbara (Bishop Mario) Wallace and Kathy W. Williams both of Simpsonville, SC; eight grandchildren, Erica Williams, Dominique Williams, Kayla Watson, Naomi Wallace, Priscilla Wallace, Tabitha Wallace, Isaac Wallace and Miracle Wallace; one great grandchild, Aaniyah Watson; two brothers, Wallace Werts (Bridget) of Saluda, SC and James (Miriam) Werts of Newberry, SC; two sisters, Fannie (Tyrone) Pitts and Diane Wertz both of Newberry, SC; sister-in-law, Shirley Werts of Saluda, SC; an adopted sister, Mary Butler of Saluda, SC; two adopted brothers, Larry (Cynthia) Harling, Greenwood, SC; Oscar Lee Daniel of Saluda, SC; five aunts, two uncles; nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
A Celebration of his life will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Mt. Enon Baptist Church with Reverend Donnie R. Byrd, presiding, Reverend Vanessa Ouzts, Words of Comfort, assisting will be Bishop Mario Wallace and Co-Pastor Roselle Chiles. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 PM.
Viewing will be Saturday, at the funeral home, Family will view 10-11 AM Public will begin at 11 AM.
