Craig Abney

Johnston, SC:  Craig Abney, 58, of 355 Long Cane Road, departed this life Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in a local hospital in Augusta, GA.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY, on November 11, 1964, son of the late George and Margaret Stevens Abney. He recevied his education in the public schools of Brooklyn, NY. He served in the US National Guard. During his working life he worked as a carpenter and other handman jobs.  He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by son, Christopher Williams and sister, Deirdre Moore.

He leaves to cherish and honor his memory; son, Craig T. Abney of Lexington, SC; daughters, Kristy Abney and Bianca Abney (Victoria) both of Orangeburg, SC; four grandsons, Ayden, Craig T, Cadence and Noah; brother, Ronald Abney of Trenton, SC; two adopted brothers, Antione Abney and Laquan Abney both of Thompson, GA; three adopted sisters, Sheena  Abney, Ashley Abney and Kaisha Abney all of Thompson, GA; aunts,  uncles, nieces, nephews, other relaives and sorrowing friends.

A Celebration of his life will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Willow Spring Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 12:00 p.m.

Family Viewing will be 1-2 p.m. Wednesday and public viewing will be 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family is receiving friends at the home of his brother, Ronald Abney, 51 Hummingbird Drive, Trenton, SC.
