Dollie Mae Byrd Wilson, 70, of 408 Old Gassaway Road, the wife of Larry Wilson departed this life Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at her residence.
She was born December 12, 1953 in Newberry, SC, daughter of the late William Byrd, Sr. and Carrie Farrow Byrd. She was reared by her grandparents, John Henry and Julia Farrow.
At an early age, she joined Scurry Spring Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. She served faithful as a Usher, Sunday School Teacher and Choir Member. She was also a member of the Ever-Ready Food Club and the WHAS #31.
Dollie graduated from Saluda High School in 1973. She was employed by Greenwood Mills - Sloan Plant for 35 years and later gained employment at Amick's Poultry for 8 years where she worked until she retired.
She was married to the love of her life, Larry Wilson of forty-seven years.
Dollie enjoyed the many vacations with her family, especially with her sister, Dianne. She was just like a mother to her many nieces and nephews. Her favorite food were fried fish and pig feet.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Julia Culbreath, Betty Jones, William Byrd, Sr., and sister-in-law, Brenda Farrow.
Dollie leaves a legacy of Love and Memories to her devoted husband, Larry Wilson of the home; sister, Dianne(Larry) Pope of Greenwood, SC, brother, Bruce Farrow of Greenwood, SC; devoted sisters-in-law, Shirley Wilson and Betty Wilson both of Saluda, SC and Rosa (Augustus) Brown of Camden, SC; devoted nieces, Sharon White and Tonia A. Wilson; devoted nephew, Franklin H. Wilson; devoted cousins, Loretta F. Settles and Lozetta F. Peterson; devoted neighbors, Janie R. Lott and Marilyn Barnes; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.
