Johnston, SC: Doris Mobley Howard Butler formerly of 227 JDM Road, the wife of Henry T. Butler gained her angel wings and entered into eternal rest in Paradise, Sunday, December 31, 2023 surrounded her family at Edgefield Post Acute.
She was born in Saluda County, SC, December 13, 1947, daughter of the J D Mobley, Sr. and the late Myrtis Butler Mobley. She received her education in the public schools of Edgefield and Saluda Counties. She was a 1966 graduate of Riverside High School. At an early age, she joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she served faithful until failing health. During her working life she worked as a Substitute Teacher for Saluda School District. She was a member of the WHAS #20.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by daughter, Michelle L. Howard and siblings, Nathaniel Mobley, J D Mobley, Jr. and Rufus Mobley.
She leaves to honor and cherish her precious memories; her husband, Henry T. Butler of the home; son, Al (Gale) Howard of Aiken, SC; daughter, Sandra D. Howard of the home; brothers, Larry (Gwen) Mobley, Bernard (Cynthia) Mobley, Reverend Gene (Mattie) Mobley all of Johnston, SC and Alonzo (Geraldine) Mobley of Ridge Spring, SC; sisters, Marilyn Barnes (Roy), Cynthia Wallace, Maleria Childs (Melvin), North Augusta, SC and Gwen Fontenot (Darrell), Hephzibah, GA; step-sons, Henry T. (Vernice) Butler and Kelvin (Patricia) Butler both of Johnston , SC and Ronnie (Connie) Butler of Trenton of Aiken, SC, Terry (Robin) Butler of Saluda, SC and Darren Smith of Columbia, SC; sixteen step-grandchildren and twenty-one step-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Joe L. (Patricia) Butler of Johnston, SC, one sister-in-law, Leathy Key of Saluda SC; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.
The family is at the home 227 JDM Road, Johnston, SC.
