Elizabeth Jones Gilchrist Rhynes

Greenwood, SC: Elizabeth Jones Gilchrist Rhynes, 90, transition from this life into eternal rest Thursday, April 17, 2025 in Wesley Commons Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Edgefield County, SC, December 18, 1934, daughter of the late Andrew and Rosie Bell Chiles Jones. She received her education in the public schools of Edgefield County, South Carolina. Early in life she moved to Washington, DC area where she lived many years before moving back to South Carolina. During her working life she worked as  a Domestic Worker. She was a member United Church of God, Johnston, SC. She was the mother of one son, Thomas who preceded her in death. 

Elizabeth leaves to cherish and honor her memory; one sister, Ora Bell (Efford) Clark of McCormick, SC; devoted daughter-in-law, Diana N. Gilchrist of Greenwood, SC; granddaughter, Tamecka Carter of Forestville, MD; three grandchildren, one great-great grand; stepdaughter, Angela (Henry)Jones of Batesburg, SC; in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.

The family is receiving friends at the home of her sister, 27 Sandrock Road, McCormick, SC.
