Johnston, SC:  Mrs. Ellen Walker, 91,  of 101 Chinaberry Lane the widow of Joel Walker, Sr., transition from this life into eternal rest Thursday, March 9, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving and caring family.

She was born in Johnston, SC, on April 8, 1931, daughter of the late David Paul (DP)  and Alafare Ligons Andrews. She received her education in the public schools of Edgefield, County, SC. At an early age, she joined Pine Hill Baptist Church and later baptized at Progressive Church of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Columbia, SC. She was retired from Riegel's after twenty plus years of service.

Left to continue her legacy; one son, Joel Walker, Jr. (Mary Ann) and two daughters, Ruth Helen Walker Ryan (Martin) and Carolyn Walker Etheredge (Larry); twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; one brother, Reverend Leonard Andrews (Willie Mae); two sisters, Deloris A. Bond (Ronald) and Dorothy A. Roberts (Henry); two sisters-in-law, Mattie W. Buckman and Eva W. Buckman and Mamie W. Crowser; dearly loved nieces, Brenda Alston Williams, Janet Alston, Allen and Linda Faye Andrews; bonus sons, Jerome Coleman and Timothy Holloway.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by, son, Donald Walker, granddaughter, Stacy Walker;  brother, Deway James Andrews, and six sisters, Laura Mae A. Robinson, Lula Mae A. Walker, Abie Ruth A. Alston, Helen A. Roberson (twin), Idrian A. Buggs, and Mary Alice A. Dandy.

The family is at the home.
