Mrs. Emma Lee Bouknight
Saluda, SC: Mrs. Emma Lee Coleman Bouknight, 91, of 103 Birath Street. the widow of Butler Bouknight, Sr. passed away on Friday evening, March 27, 2020 at her home.
She was born in Thomasville, GA, June 20, 1928, daughter of the late Padgett and Sallie Gaines Coleman. She received her education in the public schools of Saluda County, South Carolina. At an early age, she joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and later in life she became a member of Progressive Church of Saluda. She was a retired employee of Saluda Nursing Center where she worked for many years as a CNA.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two daughters, Mary F. Bouknight and Sarah L. Bouknight and siblings, Robert (Man) Coleman, Fred Coleman, Padgett Coleman, Jr., Thomas (Boot) Coleman, Georgia Mae Bryant and Essie Lee Bush.
She was the last survivor of her immediate family.
She leaves to honor and cherish her memory; daughters, Sallie (Gordon) Mobley, Clementine (Joe) Mobley and Janice Nicholson; two sons, Butler Bouknight, Jr. and Gregory G. Bouknight both of Saluda, SC; nine grandchildren, Nineteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grands; sister-in-law Edna Mae Coleman of Washington, DC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside Service will be Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Elder Henry Watson and others.
Viewing will be 1-6 pm. Wednesday at the funeral home.
