Evelyn Jenkins Lott
Saluda, SC: Evelyn Jenkins Lott, gained her heavenly wings and entered into the gates of heaven, Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Saluda Nursing Center.
She was born in Saluda, SC, May 5, 1930, daughter of the late Oscar Bud and Angelina Coleman Jenkins. She was educated Saluda County public schools where she attended Rosenwald School. At an early age, she joined Rock Hill Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. She was a member of the Musicial Choir, Senior Choir, Rock Hill Burial Aide Society and the Woman's Home Aide society. During her working life she worked at Wisteria Hosiery Mill and Milliken. Evelyn was married to John Henry Lott who preceded her in death. To this union five sons were born.
Evelyn touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish and honor her memory; sons, Henry (Jannie) Lott, Carzell (Laverne) Lott, Sherman (Gloria) Lott, Oscar Lott all of Saluda, SC, and Andrew (Shirley) Lott of Simpsonville, SC; twelve grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren six great-great grandchildren; brothers, Colie (Hattie Pearly) Jenkins of Chinquapin, NC and Bennie (Mary Lee) Jenkins of Suitland, MD; sisters, Christine Norris, Frederick, MD, and Jean Doris (James) Faulk, Washington, DC; Willie M. Jenkins (raised like a brother), Washington, DC; one brother-in-law, seven sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews. other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Her Life will 2 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Rock Hill Baptist Church conducted by the pastor, Reverend Herbert Martin with others assisting. Burial will follow in church cemetery. The body will be placed in the at 1 p.m.
Family viewing will be 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday and public viewing will be 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family is receiving friends at the home of her son, Henry (Jannie) Lott, 407 Old Gassway Road, Saluda, SC.
