Saluda, SC: Fairy Bell Corley Ouzts, the widow of the late Ervin Ouzts transitioned from this this life into eternal rest, Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Self Regional Healthcare, after declining health.
She was born in Edgefield County, SC, January 13, 1942, daughter of the late David and Georgia Etta Smith Corley. She received her education in the public schools of Edgefield County, SC and graduated from Edgefield County Colored High School (W E Parker High School. At an early age, she joined Pine Hill Baptist Church and after her marriage to Ervin Ouzts (now the late) she moved her membership to Mt. Enon Baptist Church where she served faithfully serving on the Senior Choir, Pulpit Aide and Missionary and was always to do what was asked of her. . She was also a member of the Woman's Home Aide Society.
During her working life she worked at Saluda Shirt Plant until it closed and later found employment a J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home where she retired after years of service.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by siblings, John H. Corley, Ira Corley, Ruth Jones, Jeanette Harris, Mary Coleman and Dorothy Middlebrooks
She was the last survivor of her immediate family.
She leaves to honor and cherish her precious memory; daughter/caretaker, Dorothy Ouzts of Saluda, SC; son, Tyrone Ouzts of Ridge Spring, SC; four grands Corldary Demon Ouzts, Ashton Terrel Ouzts, Tykia Ouzts, Tyrone Ouzts, Jr.; great grands, Keman, Elsie, Chanze, Aria, Princeton, Elijah, Amira and Kaashari; adopted daughter, Ann Anderson, adopted sons, Charles Coleman and Tony Minick; adopted grand, Jacob Anderson, Kimberly Anderson Clayton Anderson and Cedric Anderson; sisters-in-law, Amanda Cook, Annie Lee Corley and Reverend Vanessa Ouzts; brother-in-law, Joe Ouzts, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
The family is at the home of her sister-in-law, Amanda O. Cook, 963 Shiloh Road, Saluda, SC.
