Floyd Samuel Carroll, age 66, departed this life suddenly on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Self Regional Hospital, Greenwood, SC.
Floyd was born December 23, 1953 in Saluda, SC, the youngest child born the late Robert and Emma Bell Stevens Carroll. His brothers, Willie Coleman, Maxie Coleman and Eddie Coleman and Robert (Mann) Carroll preceded him in death.
Floyd graduated from Saluda High School in 1973 and married on May 12, 1990 to his wife Cheryl Abney Carroll. He was employed by Greenwood Mills since 1973.
Floyd loved the Lord. He sang on the choir at Lockhart Baptist Church for many years. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Floyd showed the love Christ in his kindness and compassion. He is home with the Lord but we will see him again.
Leaving to cherish and honor his memory, his devoted wife, Cheryl Abney Carroll of the home; brothers, John Coleman(Shirley) of San Antonio, Texas, James Broades Coleman (Daisy) of Columbia, SC; sisters, Clementine C. Smith of Saluda, SC and Linda C. Gilliard of Hartsville, SC; his mother-in-law, Mary L. Abney of Saluda, SC; brothers-in-law Homer Faris Abney and Jerry R. Abney; sister-in-law Mary Helen Abney Young (Larry); and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends..
A Graveside Service to honor his life will 11 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Reverend Raymond Adams.
Family viewing will be1-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and public viewing will be 2-6 p.m.
The family is at their respective homes.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that a donations be made to the AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY or a charity of choice.
