Greenwood, SC: Helen Anderson Peterson of 373 Tolbert Drive, the widow of Levester Peterson, Jr. transition on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Self Regional HealthCare.
She was born in Saluda, SC, December 5, 1948, a daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Anderson and and the late Rebecca Kinard Anderson. Helen received her education in the public schools of Saluda, South Carolina where she graduated from Riverside High School in 1967. At an early age, she joined New Salem CME Church where she served a faithfully until declining health. She was a member of the Senior Choir, a Trustee, a Missionary member and served as Church Secretary for a many years and she was also a member of Saluda Mass Choir. She was a retired employee of Saluda School District.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Viola A. Davenport, Bessie Anderson, Lannie Corine Anderson, Gary Anderson and Jacob Anderson, Sr.
She leaves to honor and cherish her memory; sons, William (Tracy)Thompson, Piedmont, SC, Noel (Natlie) Thompson. Pueblo, CO, Montez Thompson and Brain Martin both of Greenwood, SC; six grandchildren, Aaron Thompson, Alston Thompson, Avery Thompson, Olivia Thompson, Jarvis Thompson and Jamarius Thompson and six great grands; five step-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas (Melisa) Anderson, Washington, DC; sisters, Mattie Anderson, Washington, DC and Hattie (Alonzo) Watts, Maryland; sisters-in-law, Amelia (Ann) Anderson, Saluda, SC and Lozetta Peterson, Chappell, SC; brother-in-law, Larry (Vickie) Peterson, Atlanta, GA; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
