Henry Arthur Davis

Augusta, GA; Henry Arthur Davis, 80, formerly of 605 Ridge Road Apt. 4, Johnston, SC, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022, in Piedmont Hospital (University Hospital).

He was born in Saluda, Sc, son of the late Mose, Sr. and Fairy Bell Simpkins Davis, on June 15, 1942. He received his education in the public schools of Saluda County, South Carolina. Early in life he joined Antioch Baptist Church.  Henry loved music and he played guitar different groups during his early part of his life.

In addition to his parents; he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya R. Davis and siblings, Eddie, Willie, A C, Elijah and Charlie Davis, Mamie Lee Lott, Catherine Carroll, Leila Mae Higgins and Dorothy Kinard.

He leaves to honor and cherish his memories; wife, Jessie Coleman Davis of Edgefield, SC; daughter, Bridgett (Harry) Johnson of Aiken, SC, Patrice Davis (Lewis Lee) of Edgefield, SC; son, Jerome (Latina) Mathis, Saluda, SC;  seventeen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; brother, Mose (Maggie) Davis of Saluda, SC; in-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.

Homegoing Celebration will be 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Antioch Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Ronnie Parkman - Words of Comfort and others assisting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 12;30 p.m. Viewing will be 1-6 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at the funeral home.

The family will be at the home his daughter, Patrice Davis, 422, Mims St, Edgefield, SC.
