Irene Rauch Green was born in Saluda, SC, December 1, 1936, daughter of the late Felix Rauch, Sr. and the late Annie Bell Gibson Rauch. On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, God called her home to be with Him in Paradise in Lexington Medical Center.
She graduated from Riverside High School. At an early age, she joined Philippi Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. She married to Matthew (Pete) Green, Sr. for (sixty-three years) who preceded her in death, after they married she joined Mt. Enon Baptist Church where she worked faithful a Deaconess, member of the Senior Choir and the Missionary. She was a member of WHAS #41 and Mine Creek Burial Society. She was a retired employee of Burlington Textile, Batesburg, SC.
She was a faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Felix Rauch, Jr., Thommie Rauch, Jr., Calvin Rauch, Curtis Rauch, Della Gallman, Bernell Rauch, Lillie Bell Rauch and Bertha White and grandson, Jawann Green.
Those who will forever cherish her precious memories; son, Matthew Green, Jr., Columbia, SC; daughters, Renee (James) Terry, Lexington, SC, Ann Green, Batesburg, SC and Alice Green, Lexington, SC; brother, Larry (Julia) Rauch, Reading, Pa; sister, Lois (Mickey) Bailey, Reading, Pa; grandchildren, Cornelius Briggs, Sara Green, Jessica Norris and Desmond Green; great grandchildren, Conkia Briggs, Elijah Speller and Karson Glasgow; her best friend, Annie Ruth Henley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
A Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Mt. Enon Baptist Church Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
The family will be at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Renee and James Terry, 229 Coventry Lake Drive, Lexington, SC
