James Earl Nicholson
Edgefield, SC: James Earl Nicholson, 75, of 25 Morange Street, the husband of Essie Lee Bowman Nicholson departed this life Monday morning, May 9, 2022 at his residence.
James was born to the late John and Mozell Nicholson, May 30, 1946, in Johnston, SC. He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
James attended Edgefield County Public Schools. He worked as a skilled carptenter and entrepreneur for most of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and cooking on the grill. He was most known for his caring and contagious smile.
He met and married Essie Lee Bowman on November 26, 1968 and from this union four children were created.
Left to cherish his memories; his wife of fifty-four years, Essie Bowman Nicholson of the home; his children, Rodgrick Nicholson, Valorie (Larry) Gartrell, Vachon ( Dana (Greg) Carpenter, Keveate Johnson; his grandchildren, Quenton,(Shaquanna) Wilson, Brittany (Jamar) Moore, Kadesha Gartrell, Kalin Upson, Ariel Upson, Aliese Upson, Brianna Nicholson; Great-Grandchildren, Brandon Blanding, Jacob Blanding, Zariah Wilson, and Josiah Butler; Siblings, Virginia Amos, Yvonne Anderson, Charlie (Catherine) Nicholson and Joel Nicholson; a special niece, Lisa Tillman; five sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
A Clebration of His Life will be 11 A.M. Friday, May 13, 2022 at Bettis Academy Nicholson Building, Trenton, SC, with Bishop Billy Smith - Eulogist and Reverend Johnnie Peterson - Presiding and others assisting.
The family is at the residence.
