Jessie Mae Abney

Johnston, SC:  Jessie Mae Abney, 65, of 1202 Calhoun St, Apt D15, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Edgefield County Hospital.

She was born in Saluda, SC, daughter of the late William (Bro) and Ora Bell Miles Abney. She was a member of the Lockhart Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Knight's Industries.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by son, Walter W. Abney and brother, Fletcher Abney.

She is survived by;  three sons, Tyrone Abney of Saluda, SC, Leo Abney of Spartanburg, SC and Lenoard (April) Abney of Greenwood, SC; daughter, Katie Abney of Trenton, SC; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Johnny (Linda) Abney of Saluda, SC and William Abney, Jr. of Johnston, SC; sisters, Laura Bell Abney of Saluda, SC, Barbara J. Middleton and Dorothy Mason both of Maryland; three aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and sorrowing friends.

Celebration of Life and burial will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lockhart Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Annette Mathis. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

The family is at the home of her brother, Johnny (Linda) Abney, 256 Mine Creek Road, Saluda, SC.

Butler and Sons Funeral Home is assisting the Abney Family.
