Jessie James Hill

Saluda, SC:  Jessie James Hill, 75, of 1053 Perry Road, the husband of Geneva Stevens Hill passed  away peacefully, Sunday, November 3, 2024  at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He  was born September  30, 1949, in Saluda, SC, son  of the late Willie and Flora Lee Blocker Hill. He was educated in the public schools of Saluda County, South Carolina.  At an early age he joined the New Salem CME Church where he was the father of church.  He was employed by International Papers until he retired. Later after retirement, he gained employment at the Saluda County Recycling Center until his health declined.

Jessie leaves to cherish and honored his memories; his wife, Geneva Stevens Hill of the home; three daughters, Pamela J. Hill, Gloria H. (Willie) Ouzts and Deborah Hill Jones all of Saluda, SC: seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one brother, A C Hill (Diane) of Saluda, SC; four sisters, Edna Baker (Horace) and Rosetta H. Hall both of Johnston, SC, Velma Jean (Melvin) Barnes and Willie Mae Hill both of Saluda, SC; four brothers-in-law, six sisters-in-law; nephews, nieces and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Willie Hill, Jr., Roosevelt Hill, Sr., Stanley Hill and Lois Hill Cannon.

The family is at the home.
