John D Abney, Jr.

Lexington, SC:  John D. Abney, Jr., 52, departed this life on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital.

He was born in Lexington County, SC, son of the late John D. and Ruby Matthews Abney. He was a High School graduate of Batesburg High School. He was of Baptist Faith.  He was self-employed a Concrete Finisher. John was a fan of the Clemson Tigers Football Team.

Leaving to cherish and honor his memory; son, John Darrion Abney of  US Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. Jackson, NC; daughter, Arianna Etheredge, Batesburg, SC; sisters, Shirleen Padgett, Leesville, SC , Loretta Abney, Lexington, SC and Dorothy (Raymond) Gartman, Prosperity, SC; three nieces and one nephew; and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends who will missed him dearly.

The family is at the home of his sister, Shirley Padgett 419 Friendship Street, Leesville, SC 29070.
