Johnnie Short Butler
July 10, 1939 ~ June 3, 2023 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Saluda, SC: Mr. Johnnie (Short) Butler, son of the late James Bud Butler and the late Seebell Black Butler was born on July 10, 1939, in Saluda, SC. On Saturday morning, June 3, 2023, God called him into eternal rest at the Saluda Nursing and Rehab Center, after declining health.
Short as he was affectionately known received his education in the public schools of Saluda County, South Carolina.
At an early age, he joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he was a faithful member of the Mt. Calvary Male Chorus until his health began to decline. He was also a member of the Sons of Aide, the Young Men of Honor, and the Mine Creek Burial Aide Society. Johnnie retired from Graniteville Company where he worked for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: James David Butler, Albert Butler, Annie Ruth Stevens, and Marchell Butler, Sr.
Johnnie leaves to cherish and honor his memory: two brothers; Henry T. (Doris) Butler, Joe L. (Patricia) Butler of Johnston, SC, one sister Leathy Key of Saluda SC, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family (Cathy Munlyn, Travis, James, and Felix Elam), other relatives, and sorrowing friends.
He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be at the Graveside at 10 a.m.
Viewing be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the funeral home 1-6 p.m.
The family is at their respective homes.
