Saluda, SC: Johnnie Mae Lott Morris formerly of 105 William St., Ridge Spring, SC, was born on Edgefield County, SC, on May 25, 1938, daughter of the late Claude and Leora Blocker Lott and the widow of Leon Morris, Jr. She transitioned from this life into eternal rest, Sunday night, August 21, 2022, in Saluda Nursing Center and Rehab, after declining health.

She received her education in the public schools of Edgefield County, SC. She was employed by Saluda Nursing Center as a CNA where she retired after working for twenty-two years. She was a Jehovah’s Witness.

In addition to her parents and husband; she was also preceded in death by two sons, Melvin Morris and Marvin Morris and daughter, Dorothy Bernard and brother, Claude Lott, Jr.

She leaves to honor and cherish her memory; daughters, Cathy Melton (Archie), Aiken, SC, Shirley Gibson and Vernell Abner of Ward, SC, Brenda Wiggins (Jesse) and Joanne Harrrison (Melvin) of Monetta, SC, Abigail Morris, Batesburg, SC and Tasha Morris, Saluda, SC; sons, James (Zenora) Lott, Columbia, SC, Ivy (Cleavie) Morris, Batesburg, SC, Venson (Victoria) Morris and Alvin Morris of Monetta, SC, Rondell Morris (grandson raised as a son) Durham, NC, and Phillip Puttman, Ridge Spring, SC;  twenty-seven grandchildren, sixty-three great grands and sixteen great-great grands; sisters, Nora Moore, Ward, SC, Theora Gray, Annie Dinkins (Joe) of Johnston, SC and Betty Seals, Long Island, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends

The family is at the home of her daughter, Vernell Abner, 1372 Richland Creek Road, Ward, SC.
