Johnny Bell Smith
Saluda, SC: Johnny Bell (Rabbit) Smith of 1734 Fruit Hill, the husband of Regina Gwen Smith entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at his home.
He was born in Saluda County, SC, December 12, 1949, son of the late Walter Smith, Sr. and the late Ina Glover Smith. He received his education in the public schools of Saluda County, South Carolina.
At an early age, he joined the Lockhart Baptist Church and later he and his three children joined and was baptized at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Greenwood, SC.
He was a hardworker, he once worked at Greenwood Mills and his last employment was with Amick Farms as a truckdriver until his health failed.
Rabbit as he was affectionately called was well mannered and a fun loving person and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His memory will forever be in our hearts.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Lannie Jackson, Catherine Sandlin, Edna Smith, Willie James Smith, and Joe A. Smith; a grandson, Jaden Coleman.
Those left to cherish his legacy and memories; his devoted wife, Regina Gwen Smith of the home; daughters, Cheryl (Malcolm) Jenkins of Conyers, GA and Alicia Smith of Saluda, SC; son, Rodney Smith of Greenwood, SC; three grandchildren, Kadius Coleman of the home, Keyina Jenkins and Cali Jenkins both of Conyers, GA; two brothers, Walter Smith, Jr. and Sammie Smith both of Saluda, SC; three sisters, Mamie Lott, Brenda Smith and Carol Smith all of Saluda, SC; special cousin, Leonard Chapman of Saluda, SC; special friends of the family, Felisha Blakney and Stephanie Moates; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends who will miss him dearly.
A Graveside Service to celebrate his life will be 12 Noon, Monday, September 27, 2021 at Lockhart Baptist Church Cemetery.
Viewing will be 1-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.
