Batesburg, SC: Jonathan Steven Pickens, 41, transitioned from this life into eternal rest, Monday, January 22, 2024, i Lexington Medical Center.
He was born March 26, 1982 in Lexington, SC, son of John B Pickens and Rosie Rauch Pickens. He was of Baptist Faith. He worked at R&S Fish Market and did many other different jobs. He received his education in the public schools of Lexington County where he graduated from Batesburg-Leesville High School. He loved sports and his favorite Professional Football Team was the Pittsburgh Steelers.
JP as he was affectionately called touch many lives and he will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Randall Rauch.
He leaves to cherish and honor his many memories; his parents, John B. and Rosie Rauch Pickens of Batesburg, SC; brother, Willie Christopher (Chris) and Wife, Kyesha Pickens of Batesburg, SC; sister, Shannon Pickens of Batesburg, SC; paternal grandmother, Mattie Bell Pickens of Leesville, SC; seven nieces, two nephews; five aunts, five uncles and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.
A Celebration of his life will be 1 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2024 at The New Fellowship Outreach Pentecostal Holiness Church, 402 Highland Avenue, Batesburg, SC with burial in the B&L Memorial Gardens, Leesville, SC.
The body will be placed in the church at 12 Noon.
The family is at the home of his parents 428 Duncan St, Batesburg, SC.
