Jurlene Evelyn Glover Mobley
Greenwood, SC: Ms. Jurlene Evelyn Glover Mobley, daughter of the late Mr. Willie Mack Glover and Mrs. Gladys Portee Glover was born, January 23,1947 in Marianna, Florida. On Friday night, February 25, 2022, God sent an angel to usher her into eternal rest at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont, Greenwood, SC.
She was a graduate of Riverside High School in Saluda, SC and Allen University in Columbia, SC; where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Science. After receiving her degree, Jurlene worked at Greenwood Methodist Home. Later on, she was employed with FL Aerospace for many years where she eventually retired.
Jurlene was a member of Lockhart Baptist Church. She loved listening to gospel music and was an advent reader of books especially those written by TD Jakes but most importantly she loves reading God’s Word.
She was preceded in death by her mother Gladys Portee Glover, father Willie Mack Glover, and brother Arthur Dewitt (Mickey) Glover.
Leaving to cherish her memories; two daughters, Deanna Mobley of Irmo, SC; Weneeke Hurley of Greenwood SC; son Samuel (Tenai) Mobley, III; five grandchildren, Mikayla Smith, Kiari Hurley, Christopher Mobley, Xavier Cromer and Jaquavius Hill. Jurlene was affectionately known as “Sister” by her siblings, Sylvester Glover, Dorothy (Donnie) Wallace, Mary Alice Glover, Emily Patricia Sanders; Also leaving to treasure memories and time being spent together are nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Her Life will be 12 Noon, Friday, March 4, 2022 at Lockhart Baptist Church with Reverend Charles Jackson, Sr., Eulogist, Reverend Raymond Adams, presiding with others assisting. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 11:00 a.m.
Viewing will be Thursday, 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
