Kendrick O'Dell McCarty gained his Angel Wings and entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Lexington Medical Center.
He was born April 12, 1971, in Saluda, SC, son of Henry McCarty and the late Shirlen Etheredge McCarty. At an early age, he joined Bethlehem Baptist Church. He received his education in the public schools of Saluda County where he graduated from Saluda High School in1989. He played basketball and football during his time at Saluda High School. He further his education at Denmark Tech in becoming a Barber. He was an employee of Shaw Industries. Kendrick loved cooking, fishing and golfing. He was a DIE-HARD fan of the Pittsburgh Steeler's and he was lover of North Carolina Tar Hills and other sports team.
Kendrick touched many lives and he will be missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved. We can say now rest in peace until we meet again.
Kendrick leaves to cherish and honor his memory and legacy; his father; Henry (Jack) McCarty of Saluda, SC; his wife, Carolyn Hill McCarty of West Columbia, SC; daughters, Keshawn (DeAndre) Hagood, Gaston, SC and Ashley Vareen of Cayce, SC; step son, Corddaryl Ouzts of West Columbia, SC; step daughter, Consqula Smokes of Saluda, SC; his companion, Shalonda G. Baker and her children, Artavias Simmons, JaQuarius Baker, Jabari Baker, Shania Baker, Montrevious Baker and Ethan Holmes all of Saluda, SC; eleven grandchildren; brothers, Timothy McCarty of Saluda, SC and Steven (Bernadette) Harris of Colorado; sisters, Sheila M. Abney (Clint Gilliam) of Saluda, SC and Gloria (Clayton) Odom of Columbia, SC; aunts, Virginia Foulks, Jeanette Etheredge, Leora D. McCarty and Joyce McLeveen; uncles, Archie (Man) Hill and Freddie (Skip) Hill; nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
