Johnston, SC: Kenneth Lydell "Butch) Gray, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, at the age of 66, just two days before his 67th birthday.

Born on June 13, 1959, in Washington, D.C, son of the late .Marjorie Gray Miles and the late Hardy Lorick. He received his education in the public schools of Saluda County, South Carolina. At an early age, he joined Mine Baptist Church. He was retired. His last employment was at Amick's Farm. 

Kenneth lived a life marked by strength, resilience, and a deep love for family. He made his home Saluda County near Johnston, SC where he was known for his kind heart, sense of humor, and willingness to help others. Kenneth’s presence brought comfort and joy to those around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Kenneth leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever. He is survived by his brothers, Charles Edward Miles of Washington, DC, Mike Herrin of Johnston, SC and Rodney Lorick of Hyattsville, MD. He is also survived by his sisters, Zina Gray-Grimes (Rodney) and Vikki Gray, Washington, DC, Charlene Edwina Miles, Stone Mountain, GA and Debra Williams of Lexington, SC; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by his sibling, Eric Miles, Thomas Gray , Norman Lorick and Eric Miles.

Kenneth’s life was a testament to perseverance, loyalty, and love. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the memories he created and the lives he touched will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends.

The family appreciates the prayers, love, and support extended during this difficult time. Kenneth will be remembered with love and missed beyond measure.

May he rest in eternal peace.
