Kevin Chamberlain Obituary

Mr. Kevin Denis Chamberlain

~ And now the end is near and so I face the final curtain ~

Washington, DC:  Kevin Denis Chamberlain departed this earthly life on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at the age of 48.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Kevin was born to God-fearing parents Kendrick Chamberlain, Sr. and Dr. Rhunett Lindsay Chamberlain on August 11, 1971. He was the only child born to this union. Kevin learned at an early age the importance of family and the love of friends. He, like all of his broad extended family, learned to be kind, to be patient, to be courteous, to be steadfast, to be honest, and to be decent. He will be remembered for his love, compassion and comedic nature.
Born into a large family with a host of aunts and uncles, Kevin never felt the loneliness that many only children experience. He had enduring and endearing relationships with cousins who were more like brothers to him (Alvin, Patrice, and Antar), and he treasured his “Sister-Cous” relationship with Tammy. Summers at their Grandma Naomi’s home in Greenwood, South Carolina, were spent playing, climbing trees, eating at Grandma’s table, and roughhousing, creating memories that he cherished and treasured, memories that he retained his entire life.
Always considered a high achiever in all aspects of his academic career, Kevin graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1988, earning a full basketball scholarship to The University of Maryland. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in business and finance from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University, later earning a degree in computer science from Atlanta Technical College.
Kevin demonstrated great tenacity and determination in his career as a financial analyst at Grady Memorial Hospital and later as a mathematics instructor at Atlanta Technical College, both in Atlanta, Georgia. But he never abandoned his love for basketball, health, nutrition and athleticism, becoming a health and fitness expert and eventually a manager at LA Fitness.
Kevin was preceded in death by both his parents.

He is survived by a loving daughter, Camille; a brother Kendrick Chamberlain, Jr.; a host of cousins; a host of aunts and uncles and countless friends who loved and respected him dearly.
Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Kevin to Camille Chamberlain at Post Office  Box 87482, College Park, Georgia 30337.
