Lanie Mae Stevens Lorick
Saluda, SC: Lanie Mae Stevens Lorick of 593 Boulder Drive, the widow of Curtis Lorick, transition from this life into eternal rest on Saturday, December 24, 2022 in AU Medical Center, Augusta, GA.
She was born in Saluda, SC, November 23, 1935, daughter of the late Willie Stevens, Sr. and the late Leora Dozier Stevens. She was educated in the public schools of Saluda, South Carolina graduating from Rosenwald High School.
Early in life she joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and she married to Curtis Lorick and they migrated to Washington, DC and Maryland where they made their home for over 20 plus years. While living in Washington area she attended Gibson Grove Church in Maryland. After moving back to Saluda in 1974, the family became members of Rock Hill Baptist Church where she served as a faithful member where she served in the Deaconess Ministry. She was a member of WHAS #126. She was employed for many years in Dietary Department at Saluda Nursing Center until she retired.
In addition to her parents, husband, step mother, Annie Bell Minick Williams Stevens; she was also preceded in death by sons, Alcostella, John Henry and Curtis O. Lorick; siblings, Ebbie Stevens, Willie Stevens, Jr, Olin Stevens, Bennie Lee Stevens. Henry L. Williams, Booker T. Williams, Aaron Williams, Jr., Eddie F. Williams, Raymond Stevens, Abbie Jennings, Sadie Turner, Anna Stevens, Annie Mae Hickman, Mary B. Allen, Carrie Culbreath, Susie M. Buggs and Ida Williams;
She leaves to honor and cherish her memory; two sons, Frank Lorick and Darrick (Priscilla) Lorick both of Saluda, SC; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; brothers, Oscar (Narlene) Stevens, Saluda, SC, Jonathan (Veronica) Stevens, Columbia, SC, Vannie Williams, Saluda, SC and Clarence Williams, Washington, DC; sister, Dusker (Robert) King, Milledgeville, GA; brothers-in-law, Johnny Lee (Clara) Lorick, Wilbert (Gracie) Lorick and Hardy Lorick; sisters-in-law, Lucille (James) Pope and Mable (George) Crouch; numerous neices, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022 at Rock Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at Noon.
Family Viewing will be 1-2 p.m Thursday, 12/29/22 and pulbic will be 2-6 p.m at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of her son, Darrick (Priscilla) Lorick, 542 Boulder Drive, Saluda, SC.
