Leonard Wilson Pugh
Columbia, SC: Leonard Wilson Pugh, 64, of 163 Southwell Road, departed this life on December 8, 2020 at his home.
He was born in Saluda, SC, September 12, 1956, son of the late T. Otis and Tommie Mobley Pugh. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He received his education in the public schools of Saluda County, South Carolina where he graduated from Saluda High School in 1975. After graduating from high school, he joined the US Army. Leonard was a man who loved serving his country. He served in the army for 20 years where he fought in desert storm. He earned many awards and metals such as the purple heart. After retirement he went into the trucking field where he became an owner operator. He always enjoyed traveling. He loved riding his motorcycle, and cruising the town. He took interest in music such as the guitar and piano. He loved his daughters and granddaughters. He enjoyed visits from them, and will most greatly be missed.
In addtion to his parents, he was also preceded in death by; brothers, John Pugh, James Pugh Otis Pugh, Jr. and Leon Pugh.
Leonard was very quiet and a man of a few words. He will be truly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory; two daughters, Lisa Pugh of Irmo, SC and Sarah Pugh of Germany; three grandchildren; Samiah, Tionna and Briella; two brothers, Howard (Rev. Viola) Pugh and Carl (Shirley) Pugh both of Saluda, SC; a sister whom he was close to, Edith Pugh of Columbia, SC; one aunt Janie Mae Bonham of Saluda, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends who will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of his Life will be 12 Noon, Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church conducted by the pastor, Reverend Richard Jackson. Burial will be a Ft. Jackson National Cemetery on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 10 a.m.
The family is grateful to family and friends for sharing their many acts of kindness with them during this difficult time in their lives. Thank you and may God continue to bless and keep all of you.
