Brother Leroy Holloway Sr. was born August 16, 1940 in Saluda, South Carolina to the late Abraham and Anne Mae Dozier Holloway. Brother Leroy Holloway Sr. transitioned from this life to his eternal home with Jesus on February 24, 2025.
He received his education in the public schools of Saluda County, South Carolina. In 1959, Brother Holloway moved to Long Island, New York. In New York, he met his wife Amanda Louise Moore Andrews at the Revival Holiness Church of God in Christ in Long Beach, New York under the leadership of the late Pastor Roy Dokes. They were united in holy matrimony on August 18, 1963. From this union, three children were born, Leroy Holloway Jr, David Edward Holloway, and Lorie Ann Holloway.
In New York, Brother Holloway worked for Columbia Bronze, BOCES, and Hempstead General Hospital until he retired in 1996 and moved with his wife to Greenwood, South Carolina. In Greenwood, he drove a school bus for Piedmont Agency on Aging until he retired. While there, he received two awards. In 2007, he received an award for five years of service. In 2010, he received an award for driver of the year.
Brother Holloway loved his family and enjoyed capturing moments with them on film. He enjoyed fishing, tending to his garden, taking road trips and traveling. He was an avid cruiser, going on 13 cruises in his lifetime. In addition, He loved to dress sharp suits, ties, and hats.
At an early age, Brother Holloway joined Rock Hill Baptist Church which is currently under the leadership of Pastor Herbert Martin. He was a covenant member of Rock Hill Baptist Church, Saluda, South Carolina until he transitioned. In addition, He also attended Open Door Ministries, Greenville, SC under the leadership of Apostles David & Angela Holloway every 2nd and 4th Sunday with his wife. Brother Holloway rededicated his life to Jesus and would boldly proclaim to everyone who would listen, “I Am Saved and I belong to Jesus!.”
In addition to his parents, Brother Holloway was preceded in death by his wife Amanda Louise Moore Andrews Holloway and his siblings, Abraham Holloway Jr., Frankie Walker, Annie Williams, and Sallie Williams.
To rejoice in his homegoing, Brother Holloway leaves his children: Leroy Holloway Jr. (Theresa) of Baltimore, Maryland, David Holloway (Angela) of Greenville, South Carolina, and Lorie Ann Holloway of Dansville, Colorado; Four grandchildren: Christopher Holloway, Simone Holloway, Regine Holloway, and Sierra McCulloch (Brenly); Two great grandchildren: Malachi and Melody McCulloch; brother, Cordell Holloway of Saluda, South Carolina; sisters, Bobbie Holloway of Roosevelt, New York, Willete (Johnny)McCloud, Adran Holloway, Doris (Macfield) Young all of Saluda, South Carolina, Gracie Foggie of Greenwood, South Carolina, and Shirneata (Dennis) Todd of Simpsonville, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.
