Lessie Ann Burno
Saluda, SC: Lessie Ann Burno, 81, of 170 The Ridge Road, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Self Regional Medical Center, after declining health.
She was born in Prosperity, SC, September 18, 1940, daughter of the late Robert Burno, Sr. and the late Josephine Wise Burno. She received her education in the public schools of Saluda County, South Carolina. At an early age, she joined Mt. Moriah AME Church where she attended regularly until her health failed. She first worked at the Chenile Plant during its existence and later she became employed by Kate Hazel Family where she worked for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Melvin Burno; siblings, Robert Burno, Jr., Ardee Burno, Sr., and Sarah Alice McGraw.
Left to cherish and honor her precious memory; daughter and caretaker, Rosa Ann Burno (James) Griffin of Saluda, SC; sons George Edward Burno, Willie Fred (Melisa) Burno, and Ray C. Burno all of Saluda, SC; fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren; sister, Lillie (Augustus) Williams of Harrisburg, PA; brothers, L. J. Gallman and George Andrew (Sandra) Mack both of Prosperity, SC; sisters-in-law, Thelma Burno and Mae Bell Burno both of Harrisburg, PA; brother-in-law, Artis McGraw, Jr. of Saluda, SC; a dear friends, Mary H. Wise and Diane Gilliam Wise both of Saluda, SC; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends to mourn her passing.
Graveside Services to honor and celebrate her life will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Mt. Moriah AME Church Cemetery, Prosperity, SC.
Viewing will be 1-6 p.m. Tuesday 10/26/21 at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of daughter, Rosa Ann (James) Griffin, 151 Griffin Park Road, Saluda, SC.
