Greenwood, SC: Levester Peterson, Jr, 69. of 373 Tolbert Drive, the husband of Helen Anderson Peterson, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Self Regional Hospital, after declining health.
He was born in Greenwood, SC, August `10, 1956, son of the late Levester, Sr. and Carrie Lou Harris Peterson. He was a graduate of Edgewood High School. After graduating from high school he joined the US Army to serve his country. During his working life he worked at the Adams Plant a division of Greenwood Mills.
He married Helen Peterson March 6, 2006 and he joined New Salem CME Church where he attended regular and he sang in the Senior Choir until his health failed. He loved music and singing and he could play many musical instruments. He loved football and his favorite team was the Atlanta Falcon. He loved watching Western Movies, Military Movies and playing his instruments.
LP as he was affectionately called touch many lives and will be dearly missed by all who love and knew him. We can say "Rest well until we meet again".
Pleasant memories will linger on in the hearts and minds of his wife, Helen Anderson Peterson of the home; stepsons, William (Tracy) Thompson of Piedmont, SC, Noel (Natlie)Thompson of Denver, CO, Montez Thompson and Brian Martin both of Greenwood, SC; brother, Larry (Vickie) Peterson of Atlanta, GA; sisters-in-law, lozetta Peterson, Chappells, SC, Amelia (Ann) Anderson, Saluda, SC, Mattie Anderson, Washington, DC and Hattie (Alonzo) Watts of Maryland; brother-in-law, Thomas (Melisa) Anderson, Washington, DC; aunts, Elaine Sharp, Juanita Harris and Phyllis Peterson,; uncle, Daniel Harris; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Christopher Peterson, Curt Peterson and Terry Peterson.
