Mamie Smith Lott

Saluda, SC:  Mamie Smith Lott, 80, peacefully departed this life on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the home of her daughter, Ernestine Lott-Duncan, Lexington, SC.

She was born in Saluda County, SC, April 17, 1944, daughter of the late Walter and Ina Glover Smith. 

She received her education in the public schools of Saluda County, South Carolina. At an early age, she joined Lockhart Baptist Church and later she was baptized in the name of Jesus and received the gift of the Holy Ghost and united with Progressive Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ - Saluda.  She worked in the Textile Industry as an inspector until failing health.

She was married to the late Eugene Lott and to this union four children were born, one daughter, Pearline Lott preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by, daughter, Pearline Lott; siblings, Lannie Jackson, Johnny Bell Smith, Catherine Sandlin, Edna M. Smith, Brenda D. Smith, Joe Smith, Willie J. Smith and Walter Smith, Jr.

She is survived by; son, Gary E. Lott of Greenwood, SC; ; daughter, Jessie L. Lott of Saluda, SC and Ernestine Lott-Duncan of Lexington, SC; three grandchildren and six great grands; brother, Sammie Smith of Saluda, SC: sister, Carol Smith of Saluda, SC; brother-in-law, Benjamin (Sheiturnina) Lott of Hartford, CT; sisters-in-law, Regina Smith and Eugenia Lott both of Saluda, SC; two bonus daughters, Claudine Jordan, Lexington, SC and Debbie Phillips of Greenville, SC; nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.

The family is at the home 6297 Fruit Hill Road, Saluda, SC.
